Product of the Year is the world’s largest consumer-voted award for product innovation. Established 1987 in France, Product of the Year now operates in over 40 countries around the world with the same core purpose: to guide consumers to the newest products in the market, and to reward manufacturers for product and marketing innovation.
The Product of the Year logo is backed by the votes of 3,600 consumers, serving as a shortcut for shoppers in the supermarket, saving them time and money. For manufacturers of the winning products, the award is a powerful marketing message, with proven results in increasing sales, distribution and brand awareness.
Product of the Year accepts entries every year from all types of consumer packaged goods that demonstrate innovation, launched within 24 months. Entered products are then placed into specific categories such as food, beverages, or household care. Winning products are voted through a regionally representative study conducted by Nielsen.
Winning products are announced in February of each year and receive the right to use the Product of the Year logo in all their advertising, packaging and marketing for one year.
